Family Challenge

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've made a blog entry, but Kristin's been keeping up really well. I hope you have been enjoying the pictures and videos. We've really had a good time putting them together. Recently, Julia (Kristin's cousin for my people) had a post showing Liam in some vintage threads from her childhood. Between seeing that and going through some boxes we've received from our parents, Kristin and I decided we would do something similar. Below are some pics of Norah in some of our old outfits. We'll leave it to you to figure out which outfits belong to which parent.

Little Norah on the prairie... Old Navy... Buster Browns and blue jeans

Here's the challenge - look through your pictures for any with the parent wearing one of the outfits pictured. The best picture of each outfit will get top billing on the next blog post. All right, start searching. We can't wait to see what you find.

Slides and Hoops

Now that Norah is getting more independent and adventurous as she gets older, she can go down her slide all on her own. It's still a little cold to have her playground set put up outside, so we have it in our spare bedroom for now. Since Norah wants to go down the slide over and over- and she hasn't quite mastered the climbing up part yet- Dan is getting a chance to build his upper body strength!

Dan got Norah a sports set for Christmas, and she's been practicing her basketball skills. She's getting pretty good!

Nine months and new tricks

Norah is nine months old now, and is working on some new tricks. She's on the move as soon as we set her down- scooting/crawling, rolling, and walking (still with a little help). She likes standing on her own and even cruises from one piece of furniture to another.

On the move

She also likes to "help" Dan and I with the laundry. She can scoot over to our bottom drawers, pull them open, pull herself up, and then pull everything out of the drawer- all on her own. Dan and I were pretty impressed when she did it the first time, though it's admittedly a little less cute now that she does it over and over again- since it means we have to re-fold a drawer full of clothes.

"Helping" with the laundry

We just started giving her Cheerios a couple of weeks ago so she could learn to feed herself. At first, she had a lot of fun dropping every Cheerio on the floor, but she got the hang of getting them into her mouth pretty quickly. Dan and I cheered her on, and she seemed pretty proud of herself, too!

We're having so much fun with her as she's getting more active, and still can't believe how fast the time is going!

Happy Valentine's Day

It was a beautiful day here today, so we decided to spend part of Norah's first Valentine's Day at the park. It also gave us a chance to use her fancy new jogging stroller. Norah loved the swing and even got to go down the slide a couple times with Daddy. Now I'm looking forward to our Valentine's Day dinner, which Dan is cooking for me! I'm a very lucky girl indeed!

Scooting

In the last couple of days, Norah has been scooting around more and more. I think she'll be crawling in no time now (good thing we got those baby gates over the weekend- though we still have to actually install them!). Here's a video of her current efforts. We usually give her some kind of incentive to get started- a cell phone, remote control, or crinkly bag of chocolate candy usually does the trick:)

I'm 8 Months Old Today!

Now that Norah has a budding sense of humor, she and Daddy had quite a giggle-fest last night...

We've tried to take a picture of Norah on each of her month birthdays. It's hard to believe how fast the time has gone!

A Girl on the Move

Norah's new favorite activity is to walk around the house while holding onto someone's fingers. She would do it for hours if we would let her, but we tend to wear out before she does. (I'm guessing that's going to be a theme as she gets older!) She got a scooter/walker for Christmas that she's starting to walk behind, too. She also loves it when someone pushes her on the scooter, since her legs aren't quite long enough for her to move it on her own. Plus, she gets to go a lot faster when Daddy is pushing!
